Waiting Times

Lightning Lane Pass: When and How to Buy

Disneyland’s Lightning Lane pass allows you to skip the regular line for certain attractions. Here's when and how to buy it:

• Purchase Timing: Lightning Lane passes are available starting at 7 AM on the day of your visit, even before the park opens. Make sure to get yours early to maximize its benefits.

• Use the Disneyland App: You can buy the passes through the Disneyland app. Choose the rides you want to access quickly.

• Strategy: Prioritize rides like Space Mountain and Indiana Jones where wait times are usually the longest.

• RESERVATION is different from RIDING. 

• RESERVATION You cannot make multiple reservations in one go and have to reserve one after the other (usually 1-2 hours cooling time before you can make another reservation). So reserving your first ride as early as possible in the day. E.g. start at 7am in the morning. 

• RIDING - You cannot ride a reservation immediately after reserving as app will give you the ride time window in the app (typically after 30min-1hr) 

• Example: You reserve Pirates ride at 8am when you are entering the park. The app will most likely show you that your window is 9:10-10:10am. So you can visit Pirates around 9:10am and use the lightning pass line.
  Now lets say the next ride you want to reserve is say Haunted Mansion. But on the app, it will say that your next booking will be available at say 9:30am. So you have to wait till 9:30am to book the next reservation.
  So meanwhile (between 8 and 9:10am) you can see other rides.
